Tim Hortons is crazy. No matter what time I go to the one on the corner of Guy and Maisoneuve its a mad house. Lines so long they block entrances and invade the personal space of the people enjoying their 20 min time limit with their coffees.
I'll be honest there are a few times i've gone to a Tim hortons and had them mess up my order. Well more than a few...
I order "1 twelve grain bagel/cream cheese please" response: "okay so you want 7 muffins right?" im not even kidding, and neither was she.
If you try to order in English, in some stores, they dont understand ATALL. I mean, '10 timbits' doesnt translate well into french its understandable! I've gotten tea with no tea bag... hotchocolate that was mostly water. Now that I think about it I dont know why I go so often.
I think people go because they can. On a whim I decided to order coffee in my recent drive thru experience. A minute later I was wondering why I even got the coffee I didnt really want it! But the highway on the way to work practically leads into this 1.5 minute drive through making it just too hard to pass up.
Some restaurants put so much pressure you dont want to go in 'Ahem' Altaib. Others like Tim hortons will yell "hot chocolate?" for 5 minutes and still smile at the person who finally struggles through the crowd of packpack carrying, cellphone clenching students. Clearly they didnt realise Tims service is done in under 14seconds. These kinds of people are probalby not from Generation Y, were based on instant gratification. Tim hortons is our calling.
Another point is there is so many delicious things at Tims that I dont eat... I think I like to go and order coffee just so I can look at them and wonder what it'd be like to eat 20 timbits to myself... yum.
So for as long as there is a Tim hortons in our path I think its like moths to a light, were going to be unable to resist.
